2013 New Year's Ceremony for the agency presidents

Sharing achievements in 2012 and strengthening cooperative partnerships between agencies in 2013

 

 

 

Hanglas (www.hanglas.co.kr), a leader in the domestic flat glass industry, held the 2013 New Year's ceremony for the agency presidents at the Seoul Plaza Hotel on the 15th. The event was attended by Hanglass CEO Nam-geun Lee and Chairman Denis Meeus, as well as Hanglass employees and 200 representatives of dealerships nationwide.

 

 

 

The New Year's ceremonies for the CEOs of Hanglas dealerships were held to share the achievements of Hanglas in 2012 and to strengthen the prospects of the plate glass market in 2013 and cooperative relationships with dealers.

 

 

 

The event started with New Year's greetings from Hanglass President Nam-geun Lee and Chairman Denis Meus, followed by the 2013 flat glass market outlook, the announcement of the current status of windows and doors and related laws, and the introduction of new agencies and awarding of excellent agencies.

 

 

 

In his New Year's greetings, President Nam-geun Lee presupposed that "the current situation is that many difficulties have been accumulated due to the long economic downturn and recession." I hope everyone will overcome it wisely.” In particular, he said, “In 2013, positive changes are expected with the inauguration of the new government.

 

 

 

Next, Chairman Denis Meus shared his outlook on the global glass market and macroeconomics. “In a world of challenges worldwide, the solution is to differentiate ourselves into more professional, efficient and productive organizations,” he said in the announcement. He also ordered, “Government green growth and global green trend are a great opportunity for Hanglas, and together with them, we will run together until the end of the year to achieve a new leap through dynamic, proactive, and groundbreaking changes.”

 

 

 

Next, there was a presentation of ‘2012 Flat Glass Market and 2013 Prospects’, head of Sales Division Han Kwang-yeol. Han predicted that the flat glass market in 2012 is expected to face difficulties due to the slowdown in the construction industry.

 

 

 

From the second half of the year, we expected a slight growth in the flat glass market in line with the recovery of the housing market. In particular, the functional glass market is expected to continue to grow despite difficulties. Kwang-Yeol Han, the managing director, shared information such as the launch of new products such as high-functional low-e glass and coated glass in various colors, strengthening support for the B2C market, and service differentiation as the main business directions.

 

 

 

Next, the presentation of the topic of “The Current State and Direction of Window-Related Laws” was presented by the Marketing Team Manager, Jeong-ro Lee. Director Lee Jeong-ro emphasized that the laws related to windows, such as the window rating system, energy saving plans, building design standards, and eco-friendly housing construction standards, are being strengthened and revised every year. Therefore, he explained that it is necessary to prepare a response to the increasing demand for the insulation performance of plate glass. In particular, he emphasized that in the future, the need for not only insulation performance but also cooling energy saving function will increase.

 

 

 

Manager Lee Jeong-ro said, “In order to meet rapidly changing and tightening laws, it is essential to secure high value-added product capabilities.

 

 

 

Afterwards, the introduction of new dealerships, awards for excellent dealerships, a dealership photo contest, and celebratory performances were held. At the 2012 Excellent Agency Awards Ceremony, 17 companies including Dongil Glass Co., Ltd. were awarded awards as excellent distributors.

 

 

 

An official from Hanglas said, “Last year 2012 was a year in which there were many unfavorable conditions in the industry, such as the global recession and the contraction of the domestic construction market, but we were able to overcome the crisis through a strong cooperative relationship with the agency.” It is a time to congratulate the hard work of the past year and forge close cooperation between Hanglas and its dealers for a new year.”
