Hanglas, 2014 New Year's Ceremony held by the agency presidents

Continuous cooperation and support, emphasizing trust partnership between agencies

Demand for safety glass and high-functional coated glass to expand due to strengthening legal regulations

Hanglass (CEO Lee Yong-seong), a leader in the domestic flat glass industry, held a New Year's ceremony for the 2014 agency presidents at the Plaza Hotel in Seoul on January 16th.

The New Year's ceremonies for the CEOs of Hanglas dealerships were held to foresee the plate glass market in 2014 as well as the performance of Hanglas in the past year, and to strengthen the cooperative relationship with the dealerships. Hanglas CEO Lee Yong-seong and Chairman Denis Meeus, as well as Hanglas executives and employees, and 120 representatives of dealerships across the country attended the event.

The event started with a welcome speech by CEO Lee Yong-seong, and proceeded in the order of 2014 plate glass market prospects, introduction of dealer cases, and new dealerships.

He also urged, “This year, together with Hanglas, we will innovate and differentiate the production process, quality improvement, and operation to raise market trust and work together to create the best flat glass producer network in Korea.”

Next, there was a presentation on '2014 Flat Glass Market Prospect' by Kwang-Yeol Han, Managing Director of the Sales Division. Managing Director Han predicted that “in 2014, the flat glass market will face a continuous slump in the construction market and a crisis of decreasing demand for flat glass for non-residential use, as well as opportunities for the growth of the coated glass market and an increase in the use of low-e glass.”

In addition, major policy changes related to the architectural flat glass market in 2014 were introduced. Executive Vice President Han predicted, “Insulation policies, cooling energy, and the strengthening of legal regulations related to safety glass will create a synergistic effect of increasing demand for high-functional flat glass as the remodeling market is revitalized.” Accordingly, the company has strengthened public relations activities along with continuous new product launches, and has pledged to develop high value-added products and new solutions. In addition, it promised to promote customer support and network reinforcement through customized support for each member company, and to engage in market-oriented sales activities for member companies to become leaders in the coated glass market.

Afterwards, excellent dealerships and progress prizes were awarded, celebratory performances and dinners were held. At the 2013 Excellent Agency Awards Ceremony, awards were also given to Dongil Glass Co., Ltd., which was selected as an excellent agency. Yusung Development Co., Ltd. and Life Safety Glass Co., Ltd. were selected for the Progress Award.
