Contribution to actively participating in the development and institutional improvement of the plate glass industry on Ceramic Day

Dongil Glass Co., Ltd. (CEO Young-jin Kim), located in Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do, received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy at the '2015 Ceramic Day' KOREA Ceramic Shared Growth Forum held on November 25th. Dongil Glass proposed to the National Institute of Technology and Standards a proposal to revise the KS mark for double-layer glass to improve the business environment of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and argued for the need for revision by attending a public hearing. In addition, he was awarded the commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy for his contribution to improving the business environment of small and medium-sized enterprises and spreading shared growth by participating in the task of strengthening the competitiveness of large and small businesses carried out by the Korea Plate Glass Industry Association.

In addition, Dongil Glass arranged a visit from a government official to help the understanding of double-layer glass, which is currently under discussion in the WTO/environmental product negotiation in relation to the government policy suggestion. In this process, the industry made an effort to reflect the opinions of the industry through on-site explanations of the double-layer glass processing process to reflect them in the negotiation strategy.

Meanwhile, Dongil Glass Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Young-jin) established a second factory for producing double-layer glass in Ochang, Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do this year.

Last year, as part of strengthening competitiveness and expanding productivity, the company set up a 10,000-square-meter factory in Ochang, North Chungcheong Province, and newly built it as a factory suitable for double-layer glass production. In this factory, Aigis' latest automatic double-layer glass production line (3,000×4,500mm), as well as a CNC plate glass automatic cutting machine, have been installed and started in earnest. Dongil Glass is operating in connection with the first factory located in Songjeong-dong, Cheongju-si as the second factory started full-scale operation. Factory 1 is responsible for the production and business of small-volume, multi-layered glass for wholesale customers among general flat glass. In addition, the second factory is increasing its competitiveness by focusing on mass production of high-functionality double-layer glass.
