Dongil Glass Co., Ltd. (CEO Young-jin Kim), located in Cheongju-si, North Chungcheong Province, recently established a second glass factory in Ochang, Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do.

Last year, as part of strengthening competitiveness and increasing productivity, the company secured a 10,000-square-meter factory site in Ochang, North Chungcheong Province, and built a new factory suitable for the production of double-glazed glass. In addition, Aigis' latest automatic double-layer glass production line (3,000×4,500mm) and CNC plate glass automatic cutting machine were installed and started full-scale operation.

Through the expansion of the second factory, Dongil Glass is linked with the first factory located in Songjeong-dong, Cheongju, and the first factory is responsible for the production and business of small-volume, multi-layered glass for wholesale customers among general flat glass. And the second plant is planning to increase competitiveness by concentrating on mass production of high-functionality double-layer glass.

Director Kim Jeong-hwan of the company explained the background of the expansion of the plant, saying, “I think the demand for functional double-glazed glass will increase as the laws on eco-friendly buildings are strengthened.” In particular, "Dongil Glass is changing its main specifications from the existing 22mm low-e double-glazed glass processing to 28mm low-e double-glazed glass processing and production." .

Director Kim said, “Cheongju Dongil Glass will give priority to the production of high-quality functional double-glazed glass based on its know-how in manufacturing double-layer glass, in line with the tradition and reputation that has been passed down for three generations following my grandfather and father, who have walked the single path of plate glass for 75 years.” added.

In addition, Dongil Glass plans to differentiate itself from other companies by continuously expanding investment and production facilities in line with the trend of the times.

Meanwhile, Dongil Glass in Cheongju first opened in 1940 in Nammun-ro, Cheongju. After wholesale plate glass in the 70's and 80's, he concentrated his business on double-layer manufacturing and metal structure window construction in the 90's. After that, he started producing energy-saving functional low-e double-glazed glass, joined the Korea Glass Duolight Club and won the Best Quality Award. In 2013, the company was listed as a prestigious long-lived company selected by the Small and Medium Business Corporation, and in October last year, it received the Chungbuk Proud Entrepreneur Award.
