Inauguration of CEO Jeonghwan Kim of Dongil Glass, a local company

Kim Jeong-hwan (44, photo), planning director of Dongil Glass Co., Ltd., a representative local company in the Cheongju region, will take office as the representative director on the 30th.

Dongil Glass Co., Ltd. started as Dongil Choja Branch in Nammun-ro, Cheongju in 1940 and has been running for 78 years. Following the late founder Kim Seong-tae, CEO Kim Young-jin took over and became the second-generation company. This time, CEO Kim's eldest son, Kim Planning Director, took over as CEO, becoming a long-lived company for three generations.

Dongil Glass Co., Ltd. expanded its first factory in the Cheongju Industrial Complex in 2007 and started to strengthen its competitiveness by building a second factory in Ochang-eup, Cheongwon-gu last year.

After graduating from the Department of Business Administration at Korea University, the new CEO Kim worked for Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance before joining Dongil Glass in 2003.

The new CEO Kim said, “It is a lot of pressure to be the CEO of a company that has been raised by my predecessors, but based on what I have learned over the years, I will run the company with pride as a local company representing Cheongju along with the employees.” Kim Young-jin, the current CEO, will continue his activities as chairman. The CEO's transfer and inauguration ceremony will be held on the 30th at a restaurant in Bokdae-dong, Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju-si.
